Article 11 Freedom of Religion

Introduction

As a Malaysian, how could we do not know anything about the rights in Malaysia? Before that, I would like to introduce to you our beloved and beautiful lecturer, Mrs. Saratha :D In this module, we are taught to understand the fundamental rights and liberties in Malaysia, which are stated in our Federal Constitution. It is the highest source of constitutional law and provides articles to show the powers of different bodies in government. Furthermore, the articles stated in Federal Constitution have ensured every person is protected under the law, such as Article 8 (Equality) Clause 1. All persons are equal before the law and entitled to the equal position of the law.

It is interesting to tell when proclamation of emergency happens (Article 150), the fundamental liberties (Articles 5 ~ 13) seem to be void when Yang di-Pertuan Agong issuing a proclamation cannot be questioned in any court of law. These are only few parts of what we have learnt throughout the semester. Are you interested to know more about Rights in Malaysia now? Please look into our blog to explore more (^_^)
